On January 10th, 2018 Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev held a meeting with the World Bank Board of Directors. The meeting was under the chairmanship of the Executive Director Frank Heemskerk.
Ambassador Stoytchev highlighted the successful cooperation with the World Bank in the implementation of a number of projects in Bulgaria over the years. He pointed out that the challenges which Europe is facing currently require unity and joint actions of the EU. Bulgaria stands firmly by the European project and remains fully committed to work for “more Europe”. The key word is “unity” and it is embodied in the motto of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union: “United We Stand Strong”.
The main priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency were also presented: the future of Europe and young people – economic growth and social cohesion; Security and stability in Europe; European perspective and connectivity of the Western Balkans; Digital economy and creative skills.
