For the third year in a row, the State Institute for Culture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the streaming platform Gledam.bg are pleased to present the online festival for Bulgarian films, which will be available on your screens for three weeks – from November 28 to December 18, 2022. The entire film program of BG Screen Online is completely free of charge at any time of the day, from anywhere in the world, including Bulgaria.
BG Screen Online presents a diverse selection of short, full-length and documentary Bulgarian film productions.
Among the twenty selected titles is Attraction – the acclaimed film by director Martin Makariev. The Omnipresent is one of the contemporary feature films in the program. The audience will be able to enjoy as well the comedy classics А Dog in a Drawer and Something Out of Nothing.
For fans of documentary cinema, the selection offers a film by Dimitar Gochev, dedicated to the football player Hristo Stoichkov – the inspiring story of the legendary Bulgarian football player who made Bulgaria famous all over the world.
BG Screen Online includes as well documentaries related to some prominent Bulgarian figures. The selection presents Geo Milev in the Labyrinth of Time – director Kostadin Bonev); the exciting production The Second Liberation by film director Prof. Svetoslav Ovcharov and historian Prof. Evelina Kelbecheva; The Code of Paisius, authors Maria Cherneva and Georgi Milkov; To Be the Master, directed by Nikolay Vassilev; Covenant – My Father’s Letters about Prof. Minko Balkanski author Albena Nenkova, and others.
The short films in the festival are the dystopia drama Beyond, which takes place in a post-pandemic world, as well as the film Wolves, in which the main role is performed by the remarkable Bulgarian artist Stefan Mavrodiev.
The main mission of BG Screen Online is to keep the interest in Bulgarian cinema alive. The project is implemented with the assistance of the Bulgarian diplomatic and consular missions around the world and with the media partnership of the Bulgarian National Radio, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, and the web site for culture Въпреки.com.
