We are saddened to hear about the passing of Martha Forsyth, a longtime archivist and historian for the Bulgarian Studies Association, and a great admirer and researcher of Bulgarian folklore.
Through her 40 years of research in Bulgaria, she amassed an impressive archive that included over 4,000 songs, which were transferred to the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
