Concert Bulgarian Music Society

With inspirational performances of Bulgarian folk songs, opera singing and piano works, the Bulgarian Musical Society in Washington opened its 2017-2018 concert season. The event, which is held for the 9th consecutive year at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Washington, was dedicated to Dr. George Lazarov, a well-known surgeon and philanthropist, a distinguished member of the Bulgarian community in the United States and a founder of the St. George Foundation and the Bulgarian Musical Society in Washington.

More than 100 US citizens, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian community in Washington, attended the event. The program included classical and Bulgarian folk music performed by Yulia Angelov (violin), Jeni Maneva (piano), Ralitza Pacheva (piano), Ivo Kalchev (piano), Katherine H Lim (piano) and Vocal Ensemble Orfeia, under the direction of the artistic director Tatiana Serbinska.
